Category of the medicine :
It is Rasayana and Life saving, quick acting medicine mentioned in Rasashastra, a branch of Ayurveda.
Indications:
Akshepajanya Swasa (Severe dyspnea followed by facial cyanosis leading to
acute respiratory distress).
Supporting indications:
Jwara (Fever), Yakritodara (Hepatomegaly), Plihodara (Splenomegaly), Murcha (Unconsciousness or comatose state), Kshatakshin (Severe Fatigue) and infective heart and lung diseases.
Dosage :
1 capsule twice in a day of as per the direction of physician
Method of administration:
All the powder from one capsule should be taken out & mixed with honey and should be given to the patient to lick or should be applied on patient’s tongue. Or in case honey is not available only powder from a capsule can be put on patient’s tongue. Even if the patient is not fully oriented the lingual or sub lingual dose will work in next 15 to 20 minutes or maximum 45 minutes to subside the aggravated symptoms. In case of intubated patient the powder can be put below or above tongue.

Adverse Drug Reactions:
On excessive dosage it may produce giddiness, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, skin rash with boils, constipation and dryness of mouth
Antidote:
Candy sugar with milk or milk with ghee or Shudha gandhaka or Gandhak rasayan tabs 250 mg with milk.
Acute toxicity:
As per the reference of its all three ingredients it is said to be non toxic in acute toxicity study. (Ref: 1,2, 3,4,6 and 7)
Sub-chronic Toxicity:
As per the reference of its all three ingredients is it said to be non toxic in sub-chronic toxicity study (Ref: 1,2, 3 ,4,6 and 7)
Contraindications:
Neonatal child, early pregnancy, person allergic to any of the ingredients of it. Prolong continuous usage of this yoga (more than 3 months) is not recommended. There should be a gap period as washout period.
Strictly Contraindicated:
In end stage renal disease it should not be given for more than 15 days, in case
if it needs to be given, as soon as respiratory problem subsides it should be discontinued.
