Category of the medicine: It is Kwath Churna (Coarse powder), medicine mentioned in classical text of Ayurveda.
Indications: Jwara (Fever), Vatarakta(Gaut), Kamala(Jaundice), Kushta(Skin Diseases), Pandu(Anemia), Prameha(Type of Diabetes) and as Rasayana (Rejuvenating or anti oxidant)
Dosage : 50 ml of hot decoction in a day or as per the direction of physician
Adverse Drug Reactions: On excessive dosage it may produce nausea and vomiting or perspiration, as it is bitter in taste. Also it may lead to more urination Excess perspiration or urination may lead to dehydration & sometimes loose motions.
Method of preparation: in 200 ml of water 12.5 g of powder is added and boiled on moderate temperature till it reduces to half i.e. 100 ml and then filtered and administered, sufficient for two doses.
Acute toxicity: As per the available reference of it, it is said to be non toxic in
acute toxicity study.
Chronic Toxicity: As per the available reference of it, it is said to be non toxic in subchronic toxicity study.
