Category: Classical Ayurvedic ingredient in resin form (semisolid) used as internal medicine.
Indication: As per the reference available in Ancient Ayurveda book “Rasatarangini” it is indicated for Balya (Energy booster), Shotha (Edema), Pandu (Anemia), Kshaya (Emaciation), Shwas (Asthma), Pleeha (Spleenomegaly), Jwara (Fever), Agnimandya (Dyspepsia), Apasmar (Epilepsy), Unmada (Psychosis), Udara (Ascites), Mutrakruchra (UTI), Sthoulya (Obesity), Urakshata (Chest Injury), Hrudaya Shula(Angina), Prameha (Hyperglycemia), Udara Shula (Abdominal Colic), krimi (Worms), Ashmari (Calculus), Kushtha (Skin disorders), Vami ( Vomitting), Gulma (Tumors), Vatarakta (Gout), Vrushya and Rasayana (Rejuvenating)
Dosage: 250 to 1000 mg.
Contra Indication: Bleeding disorders like, Bleeding piles, Bleeding Gynecological disorders, Epistaxis, Bleeding gums, etc. diseases, Pregnancy, Person who is known allergic to Shilajatu, in these conditions one should not consume Shilajatu.
Adverse effects: Toxicologically it is proven to be safe for chronic (Prolong) and short usage but sometimes it might show some symptoms like lowering of Blood sugar levels, slight lowering of Blood pressure or Palpitation, excessive sweating, in that condition one has to consume Sugar with water and seek medical advice as soon as possible.
Presentation: 25 g. resin in Glass Jar along with one golden plated spoon for dosage.
